NEMA 4 Electrical System
- Our electrical system is sealed from the weather elements, including rain/water, the enemy of electrical connections.
- Water leads to corrosion, which leads to disconnects in the circuit, which leads to an unreliable electrical system.
- NEMA stands for the National Electrical Manufacturers Association, an agency that establishes sealing standards that enclosures must meet for various environments. In our case, the NEMA 4 rating establishes the criteria that resists rain and weather in both indoor and outdoor applications. This does not mean it can be submerged or will withstand a shot from a 4000 psi hand gun.
- Our quality does not stop there. Anyone can buy a NEMA enclosure, but rather how they deal with what happens once you poke a hole in the cover to mount that switch makes a difference.
- Poking a hole in the enclosure compromises the integrity of that rating unless the manufacturer does something to seal around the switch. We seal every switch, gauge, and meter with an o-ring in order to maintain that sealing rating.
- In addition to the great sealing features, we also offer instrumentation that no other manufacturer offers - items like the digital displays for both the water pressure of the pump as well as the vacuum/pressure performance of the blower. Both of these pieces of information are critical to the operation of anyone's unit.
- In addition to the panel mounted controls, all the boom, water pump, and throttle functions are found on both our tethered and wireless remotes, so we have a 3 fold redundancy to assure continues operation.
- A KILL SWITCH is found on all three devices for maximum safety.
- Our wireless remote has a range of 1200' unobstructed and 600' obstructed and, should the operator walk out of range of the receiver, the chassis will turn off.
- All of these controls are then mounted in an aluminum tool box for additional weather protection as well as security.
- Because of this philosophy any and all wire connections are made in "weather pack" connections.
- There are NO butt connector splices in our systems.
- When the weather packs are not practical, we utilize sealed junction boxes.
